We follow Jesus through an amazing week, even though a sense of unease grows as we head toward Jerusalem. The joyful crowd greets him as king on a donkey, which is incredible, but Jesus also weeps for the city.
Then comes the shocking scene at the temple where he overturns tables. Later, he teaches us and argues with the religious leaders.
The Passover meal is powerful, Jesus sharing bread and wine as his body and blood, even knowing we’ll betray and abandon him. In the garden, his sorrow is deep. Then comes the awful day of the cross.
Even though Peter feels the crushing weight of shame for denying Jesus, that sacrifice is for him, for all of us, to take away our shame and bring us back.
