In these first chapters, we see Jesus revealed in glory. No longer the quiet teacher walking the roads of Galilee, He stands as the risen Lord, full of light and strength. His eyes burn like fire, His face shines brighter than the sun, and His voice sounds like rushing water. Here we see who He truly is—the beginning and the end, the One who died and now lives forever.
As we read, we realize that Jesus is still walking among His people, just as He did then. He knows our works, our faith, our struggles, and even the things we try to hide. Nothing is hidden from Him, yet His knowing is filled with mercy. He speaks truth that pierces our hearts but always to heal. We can almost feel His touch as He says, “Do not be afraid.”
In His letters to the churches, Jesus praises love, patience, and faithfulness. He calls us to hold fast through trials and to turn away from false teaching. He reminds us not to lose our first love. When our hearts grow cold, our faith becomes empty. But when we love Him deeply, that love shapes every part of our lives—our kindness, our service, and our courage to stand firm.
Looking inside, we see our weakness and our weariness, yet we also hear His gentle voice calling. He stands at the door, waiting to enter if we will open to Him. Even His correction shows love. He wants to make us whole again and draw us near.
So we turn back to Him. We listen and obey. We hold tightly to His words and trust His strength. Jesus is alive forever, holding the keys of life and death, and He invites us to walk with Him until the day we see His face shining in full glory.
