We’re reminded how important it is to stay connected to Jesus, like branches connected to a vine. He is our source of life and strength. Without Him, we can’t grow or bear fruit that lasts. But when we stay close to Him, our lives show love, peace, and joy.
God is like a gardener who carefully prunes us—cutting away things that aren’t helping us grow. Sometimes that means letting go of distractions, sin, or even good things that take our focus off Christ. It’s not always easy, but it’s for our good. We want to bear fruit that brings glory to God.
To abide in Jesus means we believe in Him, follow Him, spend time in His Word, pray, confess our sins, and love others. When we do this, He lives in us, and our desires begin to match His. Our prayers reflect His heart, and He is pleased to answer them.
We want our lives to shine with His light. The fruit we bear should show that we belong to Him. And even when life is hard, we can have real joy—a deep peace that comes from knowing Jesus is with us. That kind of joy doesn’t fade because it’s rooted in Him.
Let’s keep abiding in Jesus. Let’s welcome His pruning, stay close to Him, and live lives that point others to His love.
