We have “Covenant” in our church name; what does it mean to us? Is it just a nice sounding name on the church sign and website? One thing we need to decide right up front is whether God’s promise in Jeremiah (repeated in Hebrews 10) includes us as Gentiles.
And if God will place His covenant in our hearts as well, what should that do for us?
Merle talked about two extremes within Christianity; one being a “performanced based” position and the other being the position of “cheap grace”.
The purpose of the message was to see that good actions, appetites and desires are all very important because they give a window into what is in the heart. And the real key to all those good things is the transformation that comes from God putting His covenant in our hearts and it working itself out from there.
Merle also included some personal testimony from his life experiences.
