Waiting is part of life, but how we wait matters. As Christians, we are waiting for Jesus to return, just as farmers wait for the rain. James reminds us that a good farmer doesn’t just sit around—he works while he waits. He prepares his fields, tends his crops, and trusts the rain will come. In the same way, we should be actively preparing our hearts and helping others while we wait for Jesus.
James also warns us to be patient and endure. Life is not always easy, and sometimes the road ahead is unclear. But just like the prophets and Job, we are called to stay faithful, even when we don’t see the full picture. God is working, and His promises will come true.
Instead of complaining or getting distracted, we should focus on growing in faith and encouraging those around us. Jesus is coming back, and we must be ready. Let’s put on the shoes of patient endurance, step forward in faith, and keep working until He returns.
