This sermon is all about embracing diversity in the church and not shying away from our differences. While it’s natural to hang out with people like us, it’s not in the spirit of the church to exclude others. Let’s look at a story from the Book of Acts where the apostles had to deal with complaints about unfair treatment.
Instead of dismissing these concerns or trying to do everything themselves, the apostles really listened to the gripes and got the congregation involved in sorting things out. The take-home message is that church leaders and churchgoers alike need to appreciate diversity, share responsibilities, and foster an environment where everyone feels included.
Serving the church isn’t about titles or formal qualifications, but rather about having a good character, being filled with wisdom and the Holy Spirit, and actively living your faith.
