Ruth and Hannah were different. Ruth showed great love and loyalty to her mother-in-law, Naomi. She trusted in God and promised to always be by Naomi’s side. Hannah was a woman who couldn’t have children. But she didn’t give up hope. She prayed to God and asked for a son. God heard her prayer and gave her a son named Samuel. Hannah was so thankful that she dedicated Samuel to serving God his whole life.
God is a benevolent sovereign God. Fortune, misfortune, good times, hard times, good pleasant things, unpleasant things, somehow it all comes from God’s good hand. And those who place their faith in this benevolent God will be people of kindness, selfless love, devotion, and loyalty. Those who really have God as their King, really have Jesus Christ as their Lord, will live the beautiful life in a way, similar way that Ruth and Hannah and Naomi did.
