Our identity is not found in what people think of us, in our failures, or even in the hardest parts of our past. We belong to Jesus Christ, and because of Him we are God’s beloved. The same Jesus who is worthy of all honor and glory knows us personally. He created us, chose us, called us, and invites us into a real relationship with Him.
Along the way, we may carry rejection, disappointment, fear, grief, or wounds from people who should have loved us better. Yet God does not leave us alone in those places. He helps us, comforts us, provides for us, forgives us, heals our hearts, and restores what has been broken. Even when we cannot see Him clearly, He is still near.
Sometimes the hardest work is learning to let go of bitterness and forgive. We can spend years blaming others or protecting old wounds, but Christ calls us to something better. As we surrender our pride, pain, and resentment, He changes us. He teaches us to forgive as we have been forgiven and to love others even when they have hurt us.
More than anything, we remember that God loves us. We may feel battered, scarred, rejected, or of little worth, but the Master’s hand changes everything. In His hands, our lives are not worthless or forgotten. He adopts us, stays with us, fights for us, and keeps shaping us into the people He created us to be.
So we do not have to ask who we are as though no answer has been given. In Christ, we are God’s beloved. We are His children, loved with an everlasting love. Whatever our past has held, we can begin again in Him and live knowing that our true identity is found in Jesus Christ.
